Goddesses live through us and inside of us, and one of the best ways to access their power is through DANCE.
This dance class - for all levels - is designed to reconnect you to your power and passion and the goddess energy within you.
Using a handful of goddess archetypes and their pop-star music likenesses (i.e. Beyonce & Kali, Lady Gaga & Aphrodite, P!nk & Artemis, etc.), Jess will guide us through dances to connect us to our hidden powers and create something with them.

If the idea of discovering your own hidden dance powers is exciting - and maybe even a bit scary! - I welcome you to step into this unique dance experience.
It combines really meaningful inner exploration with pure joy and fun.
It’s about connecting to parts of you that have been hidden or yet undiscovered, and then making something with them.
It’s about dance. Your dance. The way YOU dance. The way you WANT to dance. The way you don’t even know you’re capable of dancing yet.
~Jess Grippo, creator & facilitator of Pop-Goddess Dance
Oh, hi! I’m Jess. Almost forgot to introduce myself. Though I was once a shy, obedient ballerina who followed dance steps like a technical machine, I now dance freely in public and performative contexts - everywhere from the TEDx stage to New York's Got Talent. From holding up a “DANCE WITH ME” sign in a busy airport lobby, to being stuck on stage with no music in front of an audience of 200 people, I’ve learned a thing or two about what it means to channel your inner goddess through dance.
As much as I’ve been obsessed with certain pop-stars and their dance videos for years, I’ve also been obsessed with seeking out a female-friendly version of spirituality, the moon cycles and seasons of life, goddess archetypes, etc.
I came across a video on YouTube a couple of months ago as I was searching to learn more about the Indian goddess Kali, which pointed out how Beyonce’s 7/11 video was actually echoing this goddess. I did more digging and searching and found that different goddess archetypes are present in many other pop-stars’ work, too, which is how the seeds of this dance style were planted.
What I've learned is that this goddess energy is powerful stuff, and it isn’t just reserved for ancient deities or multi-platinum pop stars -
It’s for you, too.
Yes, that’s totally ok! I personally will argue that everyone is a dancer, but we don’t have to get into that here. All you need is a desire and willingness to dance and move your body. You don’t need “training” or previous dance experience. There won’t be any fancy flip moves to learn, and I certainly won’t make you do anything you’re not comfortable with. (That would be weird.)
Oh yes! Dancer-dancers welcomed, too. You might be worried this will be beneath your technical capabilities, but this workshop isn’t about technique. There are plenty of other places you can go to get a good contemporary-jazz class in. This workshop is about helping you undo whatever you’ve learned that’s stopping you from fully trusting yourself and your truth - both on the dancefloor and in life.
